Introduction
Welcome to Frame Your Journey, a story series on the blog featuring photographers from around the world and the paths that shaped their creative lives.
In this story, I’m honored to share the work and journey of Chelsea Brown, a Vancouver-based photographer, creative human, and consultant whose eye for beauty and storytelling shines through every frame she captures.
I came across Chelsea’s photos in a way that felt almost serendipitous. There’s something deeply grounding and calm about the way she sees the world. Whether it’s a quiet moment in the mountains or the nostalgic texture of film photography, her work doesn’t just show you what she sees it makes you feel it. And that’s rare.
Take a moment to explore Chelsea’s journey. I hope it inspires you the way it inspires me.
The Story Behind the Photos
These four images were captured in March, during a visit to my parents’ place on Vancouver Island. More specifically, in a small, peaceful town called Comox.
There’s a softness to this place. Quiet streets, salty air, and a slower pace that naturally invites stillness.
When I’m shooting, I’m drawn to the calm. I find myself pulled toward the ocean, into the trees, and toward those everyday moments that feel simple. I shoot what feels beautiful and interesting, leaning into light, shadow, and space.
These photos are just that! They’re small scenes that remind me to pause, look closer, and appreciate the gentle rhythm of the world around me.
Creative Choices
These days, I shoot both digital and film, but there’s something about film that keeps me coming back.
Most often, I’m out with my Leica M6 + Summicron 50mm, testing different film stocks.
About Chelsea
Hi, I’m Chelsea, a photographer from Vancouver, BC. I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember, but it’s only in the last few years that I’ve started to explore the art of photography more intentionally.
Equipment Used
Chelsea most often shoots with her Leica M6 paired with a Summicron 50mm lens, a legendary setup in the world of film photography.

The Leica M6 is a fully mechanical 35mm rangefinder camera known for its precision, compact design, and timeless build quality, a favorite among documentary and street photographers for its quiet shutter and intuitive controls.
The Summicron 50mm f2 is renowned for its sharpness, natural rendering, and beautiful contrast, making it ideal for capturing everyday moments with a cinematic, nostalgic feel.

Together, this setup allows Chelsea to experiment with different film stocks while preserving the intimacy and authenticity of the scenes she encounters.
