About The Journey
Photography has been part of my life for a long time. It made me connect with nature, with places, with sunsets and with people. Overall, it changed me in a better way. This page is about my journey and the reason I built this website.
How everything started
I started taking photos in the early 2000s with a point-and-shoot camera, photographing my friends and the places we went. When that camera broke, I kept going with my iPhone, and it came with me across Europe and the USA. I never had a pro camera. I just loved capturing the moment.
The Camera That Changed Things
In 2016, after a humanitarian project, a friend gave me an interchangeable-lens camera. I fell in love with the photos I took, so a few weeks later, I bought my first camera. That was the moment photography stopped being something I did on the side and became something I wanted to do properly.
Sharing the Journey
I started this blog to share what I was learning. I learned how to use the camera and capture moments in manual mode. A few years later, I moved into professional photography which made me buy more professional gear. Slowly I began combining my online marketing skills with photography, and now I’m building this platform to share all my knowledge.
From One Photo to a Hundred, Do We Really Need So Many Photos?
We used to take one photo and put it on the fridge, and that one photo reminded us of so many memories. Now we take 100 photos to remember one memory. Do we really need so many photos?
That’s why I began working on a big project of intentional photography that includes:
- Creating a Whole Body of Work
- Cull, Edit, & Group photos
- Print & Share
All of it is done with purpose and a strategy behind it, so that our time and our data become more valuable.
Human Connection
The best part of this journey is the people. I’ve met a few along the way who became best friends. I see them once or twice a year, we keep in touch, and we give each other honest feedback. Every year I also go to Oslo SPC (Street Photo Collective) in Oslo, where I meet amazing people. The speakers at the Festival present their work from all over the world, and listening to them made me think in projects: a strong body of work, not just a collection of photos.
Frame Your Journey
Over the past few years I created interviews, and that became the Frame Your Journey story series. I want to share other photographers’ work and push them toward a better direction with it. My goal is to inspire, to help, and to build a bigger community.
What I Teach
“Photography with purpose.”
Create visual stories. Think in projects. Shoot intentionally.
Less is more. Less scattered images, more quality images. More impactful images. More Valuable images. Easier to remember, easier to share, to sell, and to promote.
Why
This is who I am. And what I want most is more freedom! To travel, to meet people, to connect, to capture, and to help others.
If I can show it’s possible while I keep shooting, then maybe you can do it too. 🙂
Let’s Connect
The best part of this journey has been the people. If you have a question, want feedback on your work, have an idea to collaborate on, or just want to share your own story, I’d love to hear from you.
